Message Wait and Callback Indicator Lights
The Message Wait light lets you know that a voice mail message is has been
left in your mailbox. The Callback light indicates whether or not a Callback
request has been placed on your phone (see page 2-37). The following
diagram shows the location of the Message Wait and Callback lights, and is
followed by a description of each of the lights and how they are used.
Also see “Voice Mail” on page 2-62.
Messages
• A new message for the VMIB or external voice mail is defined as a
message in the mailbox which has not yet been played to the subscriber.
• A saved message is defined as a message in the mailbox which has
been played to the subscriber, but has not been deleted or moved.
• A station message wait request is defined as the MWI request left by
another intercom station without a voice message, by pressing the Call
Back button when ringing a busy or unanswered station.

Programming Flex Buttons
If you have access to the Flex Button programming option, you can assign
different tasks to any Flex button on your phone (see “Fixed, Pre-programmed,
& Flex Buttons” on page 2-11).

Contact your System Administrator to find out if you have this access.
